Exercise-specific guidance

The written setup and steps on this page are tailored to this exact exercise variation.

Movement sequence

  1. Stand with your back against a wall and walk the feet forward to a stable stance.
  2. Slide down to a comfortable knee angle while keeping the whole foot planted and the knees tracking over the toes.
  3. Hold the position while breathing, then press through the feet and slide up before form breaks.

Form cues

  • Whole foot stays heavy
  • Knees track with toes
  • Keep breathing

Common mistakes

  • Sliding so low that the knees or hips feel pinched
  • Holding the breath for the entire set

Scale it

Easier: Use a higher wall position or a shorter hold.

Harder: Extend the hold or add light external load without changing knee tracking.
